What is to be found for each individual is within each individual. Authority and the "how to" is to be found from the inside out and not to be given from the outside in.
We are meeting here to challenge and inquire into ideas, dogmas, beliefs, family and social conditioning, sub cultural and cultural programming all the way to free thinking.
No desire for a specific state to be achieved. Inquiry is not triggered by hopes, dreams or a search for becoming someone more, someone better or someone different. It is the speaker's firm experience and stance that the point is in staying with what is and being willing to investigate. Setting aside any kind of filters through which life was being viewed. Then, real understanding can take place.
I was born in Athens in 1975. My curiosity around the inner workings of human nature was my main driving force from an early age. In 1996 I finished my studies on nutrition in SVIE College in Athens. I worked for 3 years as a nutritional consultant with private clientele and for numerous health clubs in Athens. During these years I realized that supporting clients on changing their dietary habit was not sufficient for me. I was becoming more intrigued by natural healing.
In 2003 I received my diploma in shiatsu from the European School of Shiatsu in Athens. In the process, I gained extensive knowledge around human anatomy, Chinese medicine and physical healing through massage. During the period of my studies and while practicing shiatsu, I got interested in the connection between the body and the psychology of a person. Having come in contact as a shiatsu therapist with many different body structures, I started noticing certain psychosomatic patterns. I wondered how life experiences are imprinted in the body and how different psychological patterns create different physical structures and behaviors. This questioning led me to venture into body psychotherapy. In 2007 I received my diploma in Body Psychotherapy from Bodynamic Institute International in Athens and specialized in treating traumatic shock and post-traumatic stress. After my graduation, I continued with the Foundation and Shock Trainer Course and became the first Greek certified practitioner and trainer.
Between 2009 and 2012 I worked as a trainer in Bodynamic branches in Athens and Kiev-Ukraine. In Kiev I gained extensive knowledge on dealing with heavy traumatic cases by working individually with many clients. From 2008 and on, I connect with people from around the world inviting them, through our work, to a fresh way of thinking and living.
All of our experiences are registered in our bodies. Before we can even speak, it is through our physical sensations that we perceive the world and learn about the world. As a consequence, speaking solely with somebody's intellect is not enough for the unconscious material to surface in a way that can bring real and lasting change. It is important to address simultaneously the mind (through conversation) and the body (through learning how to use it in order to come in contact with our hidden blocks as well as our unexplored resources).
Combining mind-and-body directed inquiry, information-memories surface in the form of repressed emotions and instincts and physical reactions-responses. People get the chance to become aware of long standing unquestioned beliefs, ideas, rules and values. They consciously access and release what has been suppressed for years. They are better able to understand how their past conditioning has been blindly operating through them as a negatively-programmed lens, thus preventing them from freshly perceiving and responding to life today.
I passionately support people reconnect with their spontaneous intelligence, strength and creativity. Choosing honesty over comfort is to me the key to remove the obstacles between the limitation one experiences and the freedom one desires.
People often ask me how I can do a job that is related to "listening to all these problems". My answer is that I do not hear or perceive any problems. I only see gateways to a whole new way of life that was formerly translated as "problems". I embrace and deeply understand the pain that we all are carrying through our stories and negative self-belief patterns. I also understand that even though our conditioning seems to be the product of our personal story, it is simultaneously part of humanity's collective story. Each of us must be courageous enough to go through the pain. There is no way around it.
At the same time, I see no problem. I strongly believe in every person I am working with. I am in awe about every individual's uniqueness. No matter what "problem" one perceives negatively affecting her life, we take the chance to see the opportunity that it embodies, and replace rusty and petrified perception with fresh thinking and transparent observation.
I do not perceive myself as a therapist or a healer or any kind of "authority" that knows better. When it comes to working with people, I am here as a co-explorer. As a partner in intelligent inquiry, out of the confines of conditioned confusion and into the freshness of expansive awareness.
